Apache offers a number of features to backup its credentials which come in the form of compiled modules which expand upon its existing core capabilities. Being one of the most widely used web server programs Apache boasts a wide range of cross-platform capabilities with a number of different operating systems. Apache is able to run on Unix, GNU, FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris, Novell NetWare, Amiga OS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, OS/2, TPF, and eComStation. Due to this capability Apache has become one of the most widely used web server programs. This, in addition to its open-source nature, has made it popular amongst the online community. In addition, because Apache’s source code is open to the public it allows for problems and bugs to be found and remedied. This facilitates a safe, stable, and reliable system.
